Detailed Course Structure:

Knowledge Development Sessions:

Upon registration, you will receive online knowledge review for self-studying prior to the confined pool session. It will take approximately 6 to 8 hours over one week to self-study.

Prior to your trip, you will have to:

  • Complete all 5 knowledge reviews online. Paper examination will be done during the course.

You are also required to pass the following completed PADI forms to the instructor:

  • PADI Liability Release and Assumption of Risk Agreement
  • PADI Medical Form
  • PADI Open Water Diver Course Record Form
  • PADI Standard Safe Diving Practice

Confined Water Dives:

The Skills Development Sessions will take place at Nongsa Point Resort. During the sessions, fundamental skills of scuba diving that are required to keep a diver safe will be taught. Divers will also be introduced to all diving equipment needed during the course.

All you will need to bring is your swimming attire and towel and your instructor will provide the rest! Even though the fees include all gear needed for the duration of the course, it is advisable that divers invest in their personal mask, fins, snorkel and wetsuit prior to the confined water session. Reason being is that students adapt faster using their own personal gear as they will feel more comfortable and relaxed during the training. In addition, their next dive will require little or no adjustment to the equipment because they are already accustomed to their gear.

Why should I gain certification as a PADI Advanced Open Water?

Advanced Open Water Course certification. After your five dives and online theory, you’ll be more experienced, feel more comfortable in the water and simply enjoy diving more because you’ll better understand the underwater environment and the gear and equipment required for safe diving practices. For most people after completing their Open Water Certification, this is the natural progression on the road to furthering their diving career.

This course builds on what you’ve learned and develops new capabilities by introducing you to new activities and new ways to have fun scuba diving. If you only have time for 3 dives, you can complete the PADI Adventure Diver Course, later adding 2 more dives to upgrade to the full PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course. Of the 5 dives in the full PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course, one will be the Underwater Navigation dive and another the Deep dive (between 18 – 30 metres).  You will work with your instructor to complete another 3 adventure dives. You might try wreck diving, drift diving, night diving, AWARE fish identification or boat dive. What’s more, each dive in the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course may credit toward the first dive of the corresponding PADI Specialty Diver course.
